Version 1.0 · Last updated 2026-07-27
This policy forms part of the Terms of Service. It applies to everyone with access to a Dinebase workspace.
1. Prohibited use
- Using the service for anything unlawful, fraudulent, deceptive or harmful.
- Uploading content that is defamatory, harassing, discriminatory or infringes someone else's rights.
- Entering personal data about guests that you have no lawful basis to process, including health information or other sensitive categories in free-text notes.
- Impersonating another business, or publishing a booking page for a restaurant you do not operate.
- Reselling, sublicensing or providing the service to third parties as your own product without a written agreement.
- Reverse engineering, decompiling or attempting to extract source code, except to the extent mandatory law allows.
2. Messaging
Emails and SMS sent through the service must relate to a specific reservation or waitlist entry. Do not use the service for marketing campaigns, newsletters, bulk messaging or any message a guest has not reasonably consented to by making a booking. Repeated messaging to a guest who has asked to stop is prohibited.
3. Technical limits
- No scraping, crawling or automated bulk extraction of data other than through features we provide.
- No attempt to circumvent access controls, rate limits, plan limits or billing.
- No load testing, penetration testing or vulnerability scanning without prior written permission.
- No introduction of malware, or use of the service to attack any system.
- No creation of fake reservations to inflate usage, block a competitor or manipulate availability.
4. Accounts
Do not share personal login credentials. Use the invitation and role features to give each person their own access, and use Host View for shared restaurant devices.
5. Reporting and enforcement
Report abuse or suspected security issues to [SECURITY EMAIL]. We may investigate suspected violations and may restrict or suspend access where there is a serious or repeated breach, or an immediate risk to the service or to other customers. Where practical we give notice and an opportunity to correct the problem first.
